In other news from Roche, its AccuChek Instant
meter has been shown
to be easy to use thanks to new
market research which showed that
its ease-of-use contributed to saving
time for HCPs by reducing the need
for product training. As many as 96%
of Type 2 people with diabetes who
were asked agreed they could learn
how to use the Instant meter without
training, and 91% of HCPs asked said
they would recommend the AccuChek Instant
meter to their patients.
The Accu-Chek Instant meter
was recently evaluated in a remotebased
market research study with
healthcare professionals and PWDs
in five countries (Germany, United
Kingdom, India, Mexico and United
Arab Emirates).
The majority of HCPs and PWDs
asked agreed that the wide strip
dosing area makes it easy to apply
blood, that the large backlit display
was easy to read, the target range
indicator makes it easy to quickly
understand the result, and the
test strip ejector made it easy to
hygienically remove strips.
monitoring easy. An intuitive Target
Range Indicator (TRI) shows if results
are either very high or low, or only
slightly higher or lower than your
target range, to better support selfmanagement
of diabetes. Out-ofrange
test results trigger a blinking
arrow on the meter, which features
an easy-to-read display with large
text, and simple navigation.
The Instant meter features
Bluetooth enabled connectivity
to Roche's mySugr app, allowing
wireless transfer of blood glucose
results to app. Data from the app
can also seamlessly be shared with
healthcare professionals (HCPs) via
the Roche Diabetes Care Platform
(RDCP). Once paired with mySugr,
Accu-Chek Instant users get mySugr
Pro for free. This integration between
the RDCP and the mySugr app
enables PWDs to share their blood
glucose monitoring data with HCPs
during consultations, allowing for
more meaningful consultations.
The new Accu-Chek Instant
system was launched earlier this
year in the UK with the intention to
help make everyday blood glucose
