KIT ADVERTORIAL
Mark Anderson (pictured on the right with
his wife, Catherine), knows all too well the
challenges of living with ulcers and sores
and the impact that, left untreated, they
can have. The 48-year-old was diagnosed
with Type 2 diabetes four years ago, but
says that like many people in his situation,
he ignored it. This resulted in significant
complications, including amputation of
one of his toes. But his treatment was
transformed when he started using
UrgoStart in June 2018. By the start of
2019 he was almost completely healed.
Anderson says that he noticed, "A real
difference between the treatment and
healing of my right and left legs and
could see changes week on week. My
right foot, treated with UrgoStart, healed
much quicker than my left foot, which was
originally treated with normal bandages.
UrgoStart really helped the healing
process to happen much faster."
Despite the downsides of having
experienced a diabetic foot ulcer,
Anderson says that there have been silver
linings. UrgoStart has been a healer in
terms of his feet, but his overall wellbeing
has also improved. He is now much more
aware of how to look after his health and
his body and is monitoring his blood
glucose levels more regularly. The biggest
piece of advice he offers fellow people
with diabetes is to be 'fanatical' about
checking their feet.
Although he has had stresses
about his health, mobility and finances,
Anderson tries to look on the bright side.
"I am pretty positive about everything," he
says, "It is a worry at times when I think
about how long it will take to heal. But
generally, I keep smiling."
