Accu-Chek Combo
As the name suggests, the Combo
combines an Accu-Chek Aviva Expert
blood test meter which doubles as a
handset that controls the pump. An easy
menu lets you set up a system of insulin
delivery suited to your needs, using the
handset to tell the pump what insulin to
deliver, done via Bluetooth technology
from the handset. Blood test results are
stored in the separate meter and can
be viewed in a variety of ways (graphs,
averages). The meter lists and graphs
your blood test results as well as your
insulin doses. There is an on-board bolus
calculator in the meter and the colour
screen makes understanding readings
easier. The Combo pump is waterproof to
a depth of 2.5m for 60mins.
Accu-Chek Insight
The Accu-Chek Insight insulin pump
therapy system includes the option of
using a prefilled insulin cartridge, one of
several aspects that add to the ease of
use, safe handling and discreetness.
Like the Accu-Chek Combo, there are
two main components: the Accu-Chek
Insight insulin pump and a handset
(the Accu-Chek Aviva Insight diabetes
manager). The diabetes manager offers
blood glucose monitoring, a built-in
clinically proven bolus advisor with data
management on-the-go as well as an
remote control function for the insulin
pump. Once placed under clothing, there

Accu-Chek Solo
Roche Diabetes Care received a CE
Mark for its new Accu-Chek Solo
'patch' insulin pump at the end of
2018. A micropump system, the
company has been bringing the
system to some countries, including
the UK, though it's not expected to
become properly available until early
2020, having after training having
been put in place in clinics and a
separate clinical study taking place
in several European countries.
The new modular design of our
Accu-Chek Solo micropump system
responds to the needs of people
with diabetes to give them more
discretion and flexibility. It is part of
the company's intention to bring insulin
pump therapy to people with diabetes
who can benefit from this therapy
options, particularly appealing to those
keen to get a tube-free pump. It offers
the functionalities of a traditional insulin
pump alongside with the technological
advancement of tube-free insulin delivery.
It consists of two parts: a small, lightweight
and semi-disposable insulin micropump
and a remote control handset which
incorporates blood glucose monitoring
along with bolus advice. The Solo system
provides bolus insulin dosing, both from
the remote control, or directly from the
pump. In addition, the system connects
to Roche Diabetes Care's digital solutions,
such as the Accu-Chek Smart Pix system,
a proven tool for visualising, accessing
and assessing your diabetes data.
