Keeping insulin cool is a challenge if you're far from fridges,

but there are solutions out there.

We list a few as well as provide

our Travellers Checklist. P.10.

We revisit avocados in this issue.

Supermarkets report steady upwards sales, so much so that they

pay particular attention to how to

reduce wastage of this fruit. P.30.

There is so much going on at the moment! We have more

news than usual in this issue to try to keep on top of it

all. As a result there are non less than five news pages

in this issue. Various bits of diabetes kit. are getting CE Marks and

FDA approvals, which means they are able to be taken to market,

meaning we might eventually get our own hands on them. Read

more on p. 9. Then there's an upate on the Desang range of

kitbags on page 10, part of the travel theme in this issue, as these

are a boon for holidays, short trips as welll as for daily carrying of

kit. If you need to keep your insulin cool, then take a look at our

feature on p. 12. The Quality in Care Awards 2018 nominations are still

open to entries, deadline is 13 July. So if you know of someone who's doing

a great job in the arena of diabetes care, then you can help get them some

recognition. See the news item on p. 8. We're low-carbing in this issue, with

separate food features on crabmeat and avocados.
