QiC diabetes awards 2020
The event, which was held virtually on
Thursday 15 October, is partnered by
Sanofi and recognises initiatives that
improve the quality of life for people living
with diabetes.
The award for Diabetes Team of the
Year went to Sheffield Children's NHS
Foundation Trust initiative 'Paediatric
Diabetes Quality Improvement - Be Brave
and Fail Fast'.
The judges - including people in the
NHS, patients and diabetes industry - said:
"The Sheffield Children's NHS FT showed
real innovation and resourcefulness in
bringing the team together. They had
a great team ethos and achieved really
good, clear, measurable outcomes.
The judges were impressed with the
comprehensive quality improvement work
and felt it was something that could be
adapted by adult diabetes teams as well."
Professor Mike Baxter, Diabetes
Therapy Lead at Sanofi Medical added:
"These awards provide a great opportunity
for the inspiring work done across the
country, often unrecognised on a regional
or national level, to be shared and for
us to show how much we value those
individuals, teams, Trusts and partnerships
who strive to improve the quality of care
and support provided to their patients with
diabetes."
