Edgy eggies
Back to where we started, let's take a
look at what crazy things are going on at
Waitrose for Easter with the input of chef
Heston Blumenthal. Sticking to his famed
playfulness and using the art of illusion,
Blumenthal has new Eggstraordinary
Chocolate Hen's Eggs. Looking like
the real thing, these have been created
from white chocolate and have a soft
two-tone banoffee centre with layers of
fresh banana purée ganache and dark
chocolate caramel ganache. Blumenthal's
blue speckled mini eggs hide a fleur de
sel caramel filling. Or throw tradition to the
wind with the Spring Lemon Easter 'egg',
which goes straight for zest, having lemon
flavours fused with smooth and creamy
white chocolate for a sweet, citrusy
flavour.
