LIVINGLIVING
With a full colour touch screen, and various easy ways to access data on trends, the
Insight insulin pump is a smart bit of kit. The handheld diabetes manager (upright
in the image below) gives orders to the pump (the item at the front) meaning you
can hide the pump away all day. The system also features PumpCart (insulin
cartridges pre-filled with Novo insulin). The diabetes manager includes blood
glucose monitoring and a built-in clinically-proven bolus advisor
which gives the user data management on-the-go. It's also
the remote control for the insulin pump. Boluses can be
programmed discreetly by using the diabetes manager. By
making insulin pump therapy simple, discreet and personal
the Accu-Chek Insight system is designed to contribute to
an improved personalised diabetes management thereby
supporting diabetes self-management in everyday life.
The pump is compatible with a
range of ergonomically designed
infusion sets that offer easy and
straightforward insertion as well
as unique needle guard systems
designed for enhanced safety
and reliability.
Kit that we previously reported on as 'coming
soon', is now with us. Here's a little recap of
what's now available. For more info talk to your

Diasend software
Diasend is a stand-alone system
for easy uploading of information
from most glucose meters, insulin
pumps, CGMs and mobile apps
which has now been made much
more widely available for home use.
The idea is that simple and effective
communication between care
provider and patient is a prerequisite
for the best care.
The Diasend system consolidates
and presents information in clear
and structured reports, no matter
what the device is or how its data
is stored. It's free for patients to
register and upload data from their
devices, view it and share it with
HCPs, if wished. For this the clinic
must have a Diasend account; if
it does not, home users can print
out the reports and take into clinic
when they next visit. Analysing data
means you should be able to easily
spot trends, instead of this info being
'locked' into meters, pumps and
CGMs. The software is compatible
with both PCs and MACs and is the
only system that lets multiple devices
input their data into one system.
Diasend is currently compatible
with more than 100 devices.
