QiC Awards
The Quality in Care (QiC) Diabetes Awards 2024 are
now open for nominations.
QiC Diabetes is partnered with Sanofi and supported by the Association of British Clinical Diabetologists (ABCD),
Association of Children's Diabetes Clinicians (ACDC), Diabetes Psychology Network, Diabetes Research & Wellness
Foundation (DRWF), Diabetes Specialist Nurse Forum (DSN) UK, Diabetes UK, DISN UK Group, JDRF the Type 1 diabetes
charity, National Children and Young People's Diabetes Network (CYPDN), Primary Care Diabetes Society (PCDS), Trend
Diabetes, United Kingdom Clinical Pharmacy Association (UKCPA) and the Young Diabetologists and Endocrinologists'
Forum (YDEF) - and Desang Diabetes Magazine too!
The awards have been running
since 2011 and have been
recognising, rewarding
and sharing initiatives that
improve the quality of life for people
living with diabetes.
Exceptional work has been
undertaken in treatment and options
available for people with diabetes
and/or their families/carers. The
awards are designed to recognise this
outstanding work. There is also a new
category this year: Improvements in
Diabetes Care Using Data.
Entries are invited for anyone
working in the diabetes arena
throughout the UK and Ireland. The
judging day will take place on 20
September and the QiC Diabetes
2024 Awards presentation will take
place as a live event on in October at
Sanofi's office in Reading.
Nominate!
Desang Diabetes Magazine readers
are asked to support three categories
wthat are open to public nomination.
These are:
• The People's Award This award
will be presented to someone who
is based in the UK or Ireland and
is not a healthcare professional.
Instead, it will go to an individual
such as a carer, volunteer, a person
with diabetes, diabetes blogger
and/or writer, family member -
anyone that you think deserves
this recognition. You may not
nominate yourself.
• Outstanding Educator in Diabetes
This award will be presented to
an individual who is based in the
UK or Ireland and has delivered
excellence in education in a
specialist or community setting:
whether through developing
innovative teaching tools or
courses; providing mentorship for
other educators; or delivering and
promoting externally developed
training. He or she will have a clear
patient focus and be seen as a
champion for education in his or
her area.
• Diabetes Professional of the Year
This award recognises diabetes
healthcare professionals based
in the UK or Ireland who have
succeeded in raising standards of
care over and above their day-today
role.
