Overcoming obstructions
JDRF UK becomes Breakthrough T1D UK in a
major organisational and international rebrand
as introduced here by Karen Addington, CEO,
Breakthrough T1D.
"Our brand articulates our unwavering purpose -
to cure, treat and prevent Type 1 diabetes while
supporting everyone who lives with the condition.
I'm really excited by this new chapter in our
mission. We were founded by people living with type 1
diabetes with the principles of innovation, collaboration
and research evidence. Our new name embodies these
enduring principles.
This is an international rebrand with our colleagues
Breakthrough T1D in the US and our affiliates in Australia,
Canada, Israel and the Netherlands. We undertook
global insight with thousands of people living with Type
1 diabetes in our respective countries and continents, to
understand what people with T1D wanted and needed.
The insight provided the evidence for change, together
with the fact that Juvenile Diabetes is a misnomer - 88%
of people living with T1D are adults.
It's been two years of structured insight, consultation
with the community, testing, legal frameworks, digital
transformation and delivery to do the rebrand.
Our new name and identity reflect our commitment to
finding cures T1D. Until that day comes, we will continue
to help make everyday life better for the people who live
with the condition. You may have noticed our updated
website and social media platforms. This rebranding is an
exciting new chapter for us, bringing fresh energy and
focus to our mission.
While our brand has evolved, our steadfast
commitment to funding ground-breaking research
remains stronger than ever. We are determined to make a
lasting impact by championing the research and support
that matters most to you.
Together, with people like you at the heart of the T1D
community, we will unlock new possibilities. Together we
will provide access to life-changing treatments. Together
we will accelerate the pace of research.
Together, we are stronger.
Your continued support means everything to us.
Thank you for being a vital part of this journey. With
your help, we will drive breakthroughs towards a world
without T1D."
