Wellness walk
After a two-year absence Diabetes UK is once more holding a 10-mile
fund-raising river Thames 'wellness walk' in West London on 8 May to
raise funds and remind people of the importance - and fun, of exercise.
The walk is a loop from the Walled Garden at Syon Park, heading
south-west towards Twickenham. It will pass nature reserves and
wetlands teeming with wildlife, through the Royal parks, and alongside
grand palaces, historic buildings and famous bridges, finishing back at
Syon Park for a well-deserved rest. The route is on a well-constructed
path. Walkers are reminded the weather could be cool or changeable,
so leave the Crocs and flip flops at home and bring a good pair of
comfortable flat boots or shoes, with cotton socks.

The French pharmaceutical giant Sanofi has agreed to pay digital health
company Dario Health $30 million to market its diabetes products. In
return, Dario Health will have access to Sanofi's sales team to market its
smartphone-connected glucometer and app to help people manage their
diabetes, as well as its other new technology including devices to help
people correct their posture, monitor physical training exercises at home,
and provide on line treatments for depression. The plan is to create a onestop shop for
solutions for chronic conditions and sell the technology into
company health plans, but deals are not expected to be signed until later
in 2023. "Our collaboration with Dario is another step towards accelerating
Sanofi's mission of reversing the course of chronic diseases through the
integration of healthcare and technology in a way that gives people the tools
to improve their health," said Sanofi's head of general medicine in America,
Gustavo Pesquin. "We are excited to help payers realize the potential that
digital health can bring to the patient experience, and we look forward
to continuing to innovate with Dario on the next generation of chronic
condition therapies."
