BOXED UP
Lifeina releases Version II of LifeinaBox, making the
transport of medication accessible to everyone. As
the manufacturer of the world's smallest refrigerator,
Lifeina is on a mission to make the transport of fragile
medication more accessible, while meeting and exceeding
the strictest manufacturing standards in the industry.
For version II of LifeinaBox, the world's smallest
refrigerator, Lifeina has teamed up with Haier, the world's
number one home appliance brand for 12 consecutive
years. Haier is one of the world's largest manufacturers of
refrigerators and a leader in the IoT world. The Haier and
Lifeina engineers worked together in perfect symbiosis,
to make a product that perfectly answers to the wants
and needs of users of fragile medication.
Since 2018, Lifeina has been selling LifeinaBox all
over the world, but the development of LifeinaBox was a
process that started over 20 years ago. Says Uwe Deigel,
CEO of Lifeina, "My brother has Type 1 diabetes and
once a hotel accidentally froze his insulin, which put him
into a potentially life-threatening situation, so I started
developing solutions for the transport of medications.
Evolutions in technology in 2016 meant I could develop
a novel method of producing thermoelectric modules
No blisters here!
PelliTec is a novel blister prevention pad developed in the
United Kingdom. The pad has been shown to be effective
in reducing the occurrence of blisters and helping them
heal. Product trials among specific groups ¬-- such as
walkers, athletes, sports players and military personnel --
have been very successful.
Foot blisters are caused by skin rubbing against a
static surface like the inside of a shoe, boot or trainer.
under vacuum to give them better stability, allowing me
to make the first generation of LifeinaBox in 2018."
That generation of LifeinaBox won countless design
and business awards.

This friction causes the skin layers to separate and
fill with fluid. The unique and breathable sandwich
construction of PelliTec moves with your foot
significantly reducing the friction which causes blisters.
By sticking securely to the inside of your footwear and
over the blister, the PelliTec pad works to cushion and
protect the affected area, wicking away moisture thereby
reducing pressure, pain and the risk of infection.
The Merseyside entrepreneurs behind PelliTec are
celebrating after scooping an award in recognition of
exporting their product internationally. Since launching
the blister prevention pad in mid 2019, the product has
gained a strong foothold in the UK through distributors
and on-line, as well as expanding internationally into
the USA, Japan, Ireland and Australia, plus listings on
European marketplaces.
The company is planning to expand its product range
with an insole, which is about to enter a clinical study,
and which also uses its patented anti-friction technology.
Peter Broxton, a director in the PelliTec, team, said:
"We're incredibly proud to be recognised with this award,
which tells us we're taking all the right steps to get our
brand recognised across the globe as an innovative
solution to prevent blisters and managing foot conditions
associated with diabetes."
