for work, then my mum tends to take
over keeping an eye on my numbers."
In the family
Fox attends Birmingham City
Hospital for her clinic visits. And
so now do two more members of
her immediate family. "Both my
mother and my sister now have
Type I diabetes," she says, "I was
the first in 2000 at the age of six
then my sister was diagnosed in
2004 when she was 13 years old. My
mum's journey to diagnosis was a
bit more complicated. She was in
her 40s when it happened. Initially
the medics thought she had Type
2 diabetes but, in the end, it was
proven to be Type I diabetes. We
certainly share a lot more in common
now; meal-times are interesting!" Lucy Fox (and band members).
