Taking stock
Husband and wife led start-up, Take Stock makes
100% natural, Great Taste Award-winning bone broths
that are packed with flavour, collagen, and protein.
Inspired by the slow food
movement and childhood
memories of Sunday's roast
being transformed into a gently
simmered, fragrant and nourishing
soup, Take Stock is a gourmet bone
broth that packs a nutritional punch.
Using fresh, quality ingredients
that are responsibly sourced and
simply cooked, Take Stock is taking
a stand against factory processed
'Frankenfoods' with these versatile
and conveniently packaged broths.
Take Stock's broth is prepared
in small batches using traditional
methods and only natural
ingredients. Carefully sourced, meaty
bones are first roasted in a hot oven
to enhance their flavour before
herbs and vegetables are added. The
brew is intensely simmered in a slow
cooker for up to 24 hours, to extract
maximum flavour and nutrients.
The broth is then strained to leave
a clear liquid. Available in four
varieties, Chicken Bone Broth, Beef
Bone Broth; Fish Bone Broth, and
Vegan Broth.
Many broth brands reduce their
liquid to a concentrated syrup which
is then transported to a packaging
facility the diluted to bulk it back
out. Instead, Take Stock gently
pasteurises the bone broth to ensure
that it remains 'shelf stable' for up
to two years. This low intervention
production method delivers a deep,
rich, and authentic broth which
tastes just as if it was made at home
but is in fact a convenient storecupboard
staple.

Norway who are passionate about the
health and wellbeing of their animals;
Norway has one of the best standards
of welfare in the world - smaller
farms, more space and a colder
climate all come together to create
prime conditions for healthy, well
cared for animals. In the UK, organic
animals get up to three courses
of antibiotics a year, Take Stock's
beef is grass-fed, the chickens are
raised without any antibiotics and
no hormones or GMO feeds are used

the most nutritious foods available.

recyclable packaging means zero
waste. The packaging and sealed

resealable cap for handy storage and
re-use, preventing wastage.
Take Stock was founded by
former Solicitor Jessica Higgins and
her husband. Having grown up with
bone broth, with fond memories of
her mum simmering leftovers from
the Sunday roast. During lockdown's
home-schooling hell, Higgins
no longer had time to make her
favourite bone broths. Having always
harboured ambitions of starting their
own business, the couple did their
research. With four kids at home,
they had a ready-made research
pool and tried dozens of recipes of
stocks and broths on the market
but found that nothing was as good
as homemade.
Says Higgins, "We then spent
months searching for the best
sources for ingredients and
production before the ultimate bone
broth recipes were formulated. As
a result, we took the plunge and
decided to pour our savings - literally
- into our bone broth project and
Take Stock was born!"
Take Stock's broths are all gluten
free, dairy free and yeast free,
without additives or preservatives
and offer the highest protein and
collagen and lowest calories per
100ml compared to both fresh and
other bone broth brands. RRP £6.99
per 500ml carton (x3 servings).
