Crêpe crêpe hooray!
Pancake day is on the way, inspiration lies below.
Conserve specialist,
Bonne Maman, has
introduced limited
edition crêpe pans
ahead of Shrove Tuesday (21
February 2023). Produced in
partnership with Tefal, the
beautifully decorated crêpe
pans will be available from 1st
February, for a four-week period
while stocks last, from Home
Departments in Sainsbury's
stores nationwide.
The 25cm special edition
Bonne Maman crêpe pan comes
with three mini jars of various
flavours of Bonne Maman
Conserves will be available
for £17.50. Shrove Tuesday is
a great excuse to get creative
with pancakes and wow family
and friends with 'showstopper'
crêpe desserts.
Here are a few ideas for
making a fuss on the day
(obviously factor in extra insulin
to cover the sugary stuff!). What
about a simple take on the famous
Crêpes Suzette? These crêpes
are easy to make at home for a
delicious after dinner dessert on
Pancake Day. Delicate, lacy crêpes
soaked in the citrussy French
liqueur Grand Marnier, with a
splodge of Bonne Maman Bitter
Orange Marmalade, plus the
zest and juice of a lemon. For the
recipe, click HERE.
An impressive and delicious
sharing cake, the Lemon Crepe
Cake is made of layers of fine
French crêpes spread with Bonne
Maman Lemon Curd and a soft,
creamy filling made of full-fat soft
cheese (or fresh soft goat's cheese
or mascarpone cheese) and
double cream. Decorate with thin
lemon shreds or the zest of one
lemon. For the recipe, click HERE.
For something even fruitier, try
Almond Crêpes with Plums, Thyme
and Blackcurrant. These are also a
classic French crêpes, but with an
almond twist. They are filled with a
creamy filling with orange zest and
topped with warm, fresh plums in
a rich blackcurrant sauce. For the
recipe, click HERE.
