smart phone. Even as we celebrate its initial launch, our
journey of innovation continues. Dexcom has always
been a trail blazer in CGM and we will continue working
tirelessly to advance our technology and bring it to more
and more people around the globe. But the great news is,
the first step in the G7 journey has begun.
For people with diabetes in our initial launch markets
you can get started with Dexcom G7 right now. We're
working to quickly introduce G7 in additional markets.
If G7 isn't available yet in your market, the easiest way
to get on G7 is to get started on G6 today, as you'll be
automatically upgraded when it is. You'll soon be able to
see the power and simplicity of G7, and how it gives you
more control over diabetes, and your health."

Design and development
A discussion with Apurv Kamath, VP of Product at
Dexcom, and Alex Diener, Head of Dexcom's Global
Product Design on what's inside the new G7 sensor.
Diener: Our team designs the hardware and app
experiences our customers use every day.
Kamath: It's our users that we think about day in, and day
out. We want CGM to integrate seamlessly into their lives,
minimizing the burden of diabetes as much as we can.
Diener: G7 provides real-time information and an ability
to look back into the past to give you insights on how to
live your best life with diabetes.
Kamath: The best consumer products are simple,
approachable, usable and useful. Just because we are
building a product to help manage diabetes, doesn't mean
the experience should feel clinical. Managing diabetes is
hard enough. CGM takes away the guess work and helps
you make better treatment decisions.
Diener: I live with Type 1 diabetes, and many of our team
members also live with diabetes. Our entire organization
is focused on the challenges of living with this condition.
That's why when we set out to design G7, it was a blank
slate. The software and the hardware have all been
reimagined. Dexcom customers from around the world
were part of the design process. We learned from people
living with Type 1 and Type 2. Younger and older patients
and their caregivers. All to allow people to focus more on
their everyday lives, and less on chronic disease.
Kamath: We first sought to understand what people's
lives are like living with diabetes, then began crafting
solutions that fit more naturally into them. As a result, G7
is so much simpler. It's a single wearable and an app. It's
easy to apply and easy to wear. The wearable and the app
experiences blend discreetly into any user's life.
Kamath: The all-new receiver features a vibrant display.
It doesn't look like a clunky medical device that would
