Veganissimo!
A plant-based and gluten-free Italian
kitchen cookbook by Antonio Alderuccio,
inspired by someone with diabetes.
Award-winning chef Antonio
Alderuccio has created
Veganissimo!, a cookbook
that brings Italian cuisine
to everyone. From authentic Italian
antipasti to mouthwatering dolce
inspiration, Veganissimo! offers a
collection of delicious Italian recipes
uniquely crafted for a vegan and
gluten-free lifestyle without shy
away from the typical Italian cuisine's
foundations of pasta, breads, and
cheeses. The recipes are firmly rooted
in tradition and tastes, while creating
new textures that can attract a wider
audience.
The book contains more than 75
recipes from mains like Pasta alla
Puttanesca and Asparagus Cacio e
Pepe, to tantalizing sides such as La
Bruschi and Roasted Friggitelli With
irresistible dolce (sweet) offerings like
Panna Cotta and Tiramisu, there's
something for everyone.
Born in Sicily, Alderuccio moved
to the UK in 2015, where a chance
encounter with a young girl with
diabetes and coeliac disease inspired
him to explore gluten-free and vegan
cooking.
In 2019, he launched London's first
vegan, gluten-free restaurant with an
Italian identity, Plant Club, in north
London. His passion for innovative
cuisine took him back to Italy in 2023
as the executive chef of Linfa, in
Milan, where he quickly elevated the
restaurant to one of the top-rated
bistros in the country.
Alderuccio's work has been
recognised internationally, with The
Times naming him a 'revolutionary in
the culinary world' in 2023 and Fine
Dining Lovers praising his glutenfree
pizza as one of the best in Milan.
In 2022, Antonio was honoured as
the Federation of Italian Chefs
(FIC), pasta Chef of the Year, a
historic achievement for a vegan and
gluten-free chef.
